We each need someone to push us beyond our familiar walls. To expand your capabilities and grow as an artist, there must be someone continually expecting your best. This doesn't mean they demand perfection in your work; it means they expect you to garner the recognition your art deserves. This person must encourage you to share your work with larger and larger audiences. Know that this one sees your true potential and will not let you fall short of it whether it be from lack of motivation or fear.
Do you have someone like this in your life?
Last night was a Harvest Moon. It was so bright and beautiful. I love when the moon is full; it makes my blood howl. But, it also takes my stars away. I can see the Milky Way from my home most nights. I often stare at the iridescent mist above and pity those who have lived in cities all their lives. There is a good chance they have never seen the stars. How can one truly value the preciousness of life without witnessing the vastness of existence? Everyone should know what it feels like to be truly insignificant on the scale of time.
